Travel: Kyoto, Japan

Beautiful Kyoto in its autumn colour. It was late november, when coloured walls of red and yellow were everywhere, and fallen leaves started to build under the trees. Ohara and Arashiyama were my favourite places in Kyoto. These places were saturated with japanese historic culture, beautiful architecture, exquisite cuisine, & the heart-felt hospitality made me wanted to go back again and again (it was indeed my fourth trip to kyoto!)

Ohara is a tranquil rural village north of Kyoto. Oh yes, I love rural area away from the crowd, peaceful and quiet, perfect for leisurely strolling and photo shooting! We spent two nights at Ohara and there were indeed a lot to explore with beautiful gardens and temples within a breath taking background of red! we also had one of our best sukiyaki and shabu shabu for dinner at our hostel, and I was not exaggerating, it was sooo delicious! :p

Arashiyama is one of those stunningly beautiful areas in Kyoto, natural landscapes, postcard worthy bamboo forest, && world heritage temples. Its a magical place which looked exactly like photos we saw on travel books, and was exceptionally beautiful in the autumn season. The play of light and shadow along the serene forest path is a wonder to behold. Before we left, we could not resist but to enjoy a matcha parfait at a cafe overlooking the togetsu-kyo bridge.

p.s. if you're a matchaholic like me, Kyoto is gona be a heavenly place for you.

photos of Nara on my next post! have a gorgeous day ahead & hope you enjoy my film photography. :)
